North Carolina Bail Bondsman Continuing Education Requirements

CE Requirement Overview: Under the authority of the N.C. Department of Insurance, all bail agents in North Carolina are mandated to complete a minimum of 3 hours of continuing education class each year. This requirement must be fulfilled before June 30th to maintain your bail bonding license. NCGS 58-71-71 (b) Failure to meet this deadline may result in non-compliance and potential license suspension.

2023 Course Topic: Use of Force, Forfeitures, & Set-Asides: To address the CE requirement, the state has approved a comprehensive 3-hour class focusing on the topics of Use of Force, Forfeitures, & Set-Asides. This course aims to enhance your knowledge and understanding of these critical areas within the bail bonding profession.


The North Carolina Bail Agents Association (NCBAA) is one of the main providers for continuing education and prelicensing of Bail Bondsman in North Carolina. NCBAA is a non-profit state-wide organization that is run by bondsmen for bondsmen. By taking your CE with NCBAA, your tuition continues to work for you long after the class is over. The fees All monies, tuition, and membership dues collected by NCBAA are used to help fight the anti-cash bail movement and to support better bail bonding laws to help you MAKE/SAVE MORE MONEY.
